Jai Hambly Organic Master Gardener and Edible Landscape Designer, Owner of Organic Living Inc. Jai is a Master Gardener and Landscape Designer with a lot of experience growing plants. She grew up on an organic farm where her family grew fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts, meat, and eggs. They were self sufficient: they canned and froze their crops and meat, made pickles, jam, juices, etc, and baked their bread, cakes, cookies and pies weekly. Later, she owned and managed Jai's Landscape Design & Nursery for fifteen years and taught classes and workshops on Landscape Design, Perennial Garden Design, Herb Gardens, Organic Pest Control, and Organic Gardening. She gave monthly tours of her three-acre display gardens which were located on her ten-acre Certified Wildlife Habitat and organic farm. Jai was awarded the Waste Knot Award four years running from Washtenaw County for her recycling efforts. Currently, she incorporates her background, experience and knowledge as well as permaculture into her gardens where she grows a multitude of organic edible herbs and vegetables, as well as many fruit trees and nursery plants on her small lot in Clearwater. |
Chris - Director of Marketing, Garden Installations Chris grew up in New England with a family garden providing delicious vegetables each spring and summer. After graduating from Bryant University in 2008 with a degree in business management and marketing he moved down to St. Petersburg Florida. As well as working with Organic Living Inc on marketing and garden installations Chris practices in multiple fields including health, meta-physics, massage, botany/herbology and more. This well rounded education base has helped him to determine his stand on organic foods and sustainable growing techniques. "I feel the future of health is in the foods we eat, water we drink, and air we breathe. If you continue to fight symptoms and ailments instead of treating the root problems we will continue to have health issues and disease in our country. Each person should take responsibility into their own hands instead of waiting for our healthcare system to decide health is really about prevention and not treatment." Kurt Jorden- Organic Chef, Garden Installations Kurt is an organic chef and teaches cooking, food prep, growing organic food etc. He helps with landscaping when not cooking. He cured himself of diabetes, high blood pressure and an enlarged heart by changing his diet. He is passionate about helping and teaching others to do the same. Ruth Sarnago - All natural products, Garden Installations Ruth helps in many aspects: landscaping, nursery work, bookkeeping, designing labels, etc. She trained as a cosmetologist and was first introduced to the world of organics by an instructor in cosmetology school. She quit when she had health challenges due to exposure to the harsh chemicals. Then her grandmother was diagnosed in 2005 with stage 3 colon cancer and given 6 months to live. Ruth did research and made a conscious decision to change her families lifestyle (grandma has been cancer free for 5 years). Ruth creates safe, effective, and natural skin products, and she teaches workshops about the harmful effects of chemicals contained in many products we use everyday and offers people organic and natural solutions. Laura Pfiffer- Nursery Manager, Garden Installations Laura is the Nursery Manager and also helps install landscape jobs. In 1983 she was certified as a Fitness Instructor, she was a small business owner for 18 years and in 2009 she was certified as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. The foundation of her Wholistic Health and Wellness coaching is a properly prepared; nutrient dense whole food diet. |
